According to the Environment Agency, over two million people in England live and work in properties at risk of flooding from rivers or the sea, whilst more face flood threats from groundwater, surface water, sewers, and reservoirs.

At Gocompare, we have put together a guide to preparing for a flood and protecting your property - https://www.gocompare.com/home-insurance/guide/flood-damage-repair-and-prevention/

In extreme conditions you won't be able to stop flood water, and you should always put personal safety above attempts to protect property and possessions. Despite this, there are steps that you can take to keep water out, to buy yourself time to preserve property and possessions, and to limit the damage that flood water does.

We think this information would be useful for your readers. A link to our guide can be found here:

REMEMBRANCE DAY

The Parade will once again be followed by the Act of Remembrance at the War Memorial and a Remembrance Service in the Parish Church. After the Church Service refreshments will be available at the Legion Hall courtesy of the Kedington & District Branch.

The Street Parade is organised by Kedington Parish Council. It has applied for the necessary Road Closure Order from Suffolk County Council who will provide accredited staff to control the traffic following the Order being approved.

Those wishing to take part in the Parade should muster off the road in the vicinity of the Barnardiston Arms PH until the roads have been closed to traffic. The Parade will assemble on the highway at 10.20am before moving off at 10.30am under the direction of the Parade Marshal, Richard Cutting.

On arrival at the War Memorial the Act of Remembrance will take place including Wreath Laying. We will once again be asking our uniform organisations to lay a Poppy Cross during the service at the War Memorial. There will then be a Service of Remembrance in St Peter & St Paul Church to which all are welcome.

Please could you let me know if you will be participating in the Parade, laying a wreath, attending the Church service or any part of the event. Please could you also let me know how many will be attending, so we have some idea of numbers.

Steve Brown (Royal British Legion) will contact groups separately about the procedure at the War Memorial and Church Service after the Parade.Regards,

John Boxall CiLCA
